If pressed, a member of Apostles might describe their sound as "traditional metal". That’s fine, I get it, but it does not seem entirely accurate to me. As far as I'm concerned most bands that are staples of metal history are boring, and in my opinion, irrelevant. So they may be" talented" and whatever, blah, I just don’t care.
So how these dudes can appreciate that flash in the pan garbage and write some of the heaviest, catchiest, "I wanna shot gun a beer while riding a motorcycle at 100mph after this show" is beyond me. Current members Adam Rossell(guitar, vocals), Matt Younker(drums), Josh Stacey(guitar) and Evan Wiley(bass) enjoy playing in this band and having fires in the woods. Together they share a large family tree of various Grand Rapids bands. So check them out while you can, folks because its only a matter of time before a member leaves to "truly express themselves" in a two man band that involves an electric harp and it all goes to pieces. They have managed to finish recording and mixing an album despite Busch Lights best efforts.
