Eventually migrating to Michigan (Detroit) Opening her own business at the tender young age of 23, she grew 'Pasta' in underground greenhouses. It was here she met, and eventually married this cocksucker (and homophobic) named Homer Leelen Smith. Homer was a railroad man and pasta runner for Gladys' illegal operation. Nine months later the couples only child, Charles Preston Smith, was born. As a toddler he wandered into the plant, and upon playing around one of the pasta hoppers, had both his left and right thumbs detached and ground into the mix. As far as authorities could tell, about 2 tons of "NOODLES" made it into circulation with a portion of the youngsters flesh and bone as an ingredient! To cover her illegal operation, Gladys raised Potatoes on a nearby farm, using the PotatoSacks to conceal her Raviolis and other pasta-like products. Gladys' nickname 'the PotatoeWoman", carried over to her only child. A son, born in a Rnger, a Ford Ranger, out back behind the barn. This child, this child of the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun. This child of Dirt and Grass. Dirt and Grass, or SOD as it is most commonly known. This was a child of Sod. This child, born in a Ranger and SOD's only Augrotten son. A spud, direct from the soil. All that will believe in the soil, shall not rot, but ripen to an everlasting life. Gladys gave birth to this boy. Born September 12th, Nineteen-Hundred sixty-three! THIS was the day his mother had him! And 5 years later behind that very same barn... 'his father had him' The PotatoeBabies are in memory of Mom, the late Gladys Beavers. Legend has it, as a child, Charles would roll around in the dirt while a loving Mother tended to her garden... Hence the name; Her little PotatoeBabies.
