Although his may not be a household name, Katzman, 24, has been part of the local music scene since 2004, when he moved to town from his native New York to study percussion as part of the University of Michigan School of Music’s jazz program.
That led to a stint with popular local band My Dear Disco, and then to a solo career that often sees him performing with his band, Love Massive. He also teaches guitar, bass and drums at the Ann Arbor Music Center.
